Malabar Court was designed as retirement housing, the purpose for which it is still used today. It is arranged as stacked hexagonal light grey pre-cast concrete frames around a central core. The frames are accented by the contrasting dark brown brick infill. There is something of the Giant’s Causeway in the manner in which the hexagonal units descend in staggered and stepped fashion, from five storeys to one, with great sculptural effect
